This falls in the category of missing the point of the song as do most attempts at censorship. "Paper Planes," the breakthrough pop smash by British artist of Sri Lankan descent M.I.A., incorporates the sound of gunshots in the chorus to help underline the points being made in the song about images of immigrants. However, in various contexts, nervous TV censors decided that the gunshots were disturbing enough that they should not be heard by home audiences.

Rihanna’s “Disturbia” has dethroned Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl,” becoming the current most-downloaded song on Apple’s iTunes.

British singer-songwriter M.I.A. has the No. 2 most downloaded song for Aug. 4 with “Paper Planes.” The song is the third single from the star’s album Kala. The song has gained popularity after being featured in a trailer for the upcoming comedy, “Pineapple Express,” which stars Seth Rogen and James Franco.

There seems to be a daily announcement about a new celebrity launching his or her own clothing line, but we're actually eager to see this one: rapper and Marc Jacobs model M.I.A. has told Women's Wear Daily that she now has a clothing line. The artist is known for her bold and bright stage outfits, so expect bomber jackets, leggings and T-shirts in neon hues and graphic prints.
